Harland Simon UPS Ltd. (Harland Simon Power Solutions) is announcing a reshuffle of staff as a step towards growth for the next 20 years.

In 1995, Paul Lane joined Harland Simon PLC to start-up the UPS division.

In 1998 a new company was formed and Andy Parfitt was brought in as Sales Director of Harland Simon UPS Limited.

Through their diligent leadership, Harland Simon has grown into £3million/annum Turnover Company employing 20 staff.

During this time span the company has relocated twice due to growing orders and more manufacturing space required.

Harland Simon is a Value Added Reseller to the top worldwide UPS OEM’s including Eaton, Riello, GE, Alpha Technologies and also supplies to these OEM’s rugged UPS and extended battery runtime systems.

In June 2014, the Harland ProtectUPS® range of rugged ingress protected UPS systems was launched at the Counter Terror exhibition.

Divided into the four main market sectors – Defence, Industrial, Marine and Transport – the Harland ProtectUPS® is based on years of R & D provided by customers’ specifications pulled together to bring to the customer a standard rugged UPS system built for harsh environments found in the defence, water, power, seagoing vessels/marine, road and rail markets.

Andy Parfitt has moved into the role of MD to oversee the growth and expansion of the company into the next 20 years.

Andy brings over 30 years’ experience of Technical Sales to his role, with a background of working for a number of UPS companies.

Starting his career as an apprentice at Marconi Instruments and gaining an HNC in Telecommunications Engineering, Andy has developed an extensive bank of knowledge and a deep understanding of customers’ unique requirements that he brings to his new role at Harland Simon UPS.

Andy says “I am looking forward to my new challenge, the new company structure will allow HS UPS to offer our existing and new customers the solutions to their power problems, a ‘protected UPS’ namely the Harland ProtectUPS®.

We will offer the best technical and commercial product with the best management, service and support, thus giving the customer an excellent service and complete solutions package.”

Paul Lane becomes the new Financial Director for Harland Simon UPS and will be responsible for their company’s financial health.

Paul will set up a financial strategy for the profitable long-term growth of the business.

Scott Billson is the new Senior Sales and Marketing Manager keen to increase the awareness and market share of the Harland ProtectUPS®.

Scott has been with Harland Simon UPS for seven years initially developing the building services, comms/IT and UPS partnerships but with the decline in new development refocused on the growing transport sector.

While developing new UPS products for both road and rail applications Scott has also overseen the introduction of the new Lead Crystal® battery technology.

Scott has worked within the power industry since the early 90’s working with most of the major OEM’s along with more specialised partners, enabling him to offer varied power solutions to meet the customers’ needs.

Moving forward he says “I am pleased to have been offered this role as I enjoy the challenge of looking to develop new products for new applications and certainly look to do this by promoting the Harland ProtectUPS®".

Nick Digiloramo joins HSUPS to strengthen its project management ensuring all projects are run on time and on budget thus giving customers a flawless service.

Nick completed an apprenticeship and gained an HNC qualification in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and since then he has gained a Prince2 qualification in project management followed by over 5 years technical project management in several companies.

The new structure will intensify leadership focus on operational performance and allow Harland Simon UPS to build on its leading engineering capabilities.
